I bet you have seen this icon in your Windows 10 system! This is the icon for Windows Mail.

If you would like to use this program to check your email account you have at ILJ Mail, then click that mail icon and follow these steps.   It could be slightly different if the program has updated since this article was originally written.

First pull up Windows 10 Mail App. If you have already set up a Windows email account you will see your current email.

Click the Settings icon in the bottom left and a new menu will pop up over on the right.

Choose “Manage Accounts”

Choose “Add Account”

A screen similar to this will pop up asking what kind of account you are adding. Choose “Advanced Setup”

Choose Internet Email:

As the following image, enter your information as follows:
Email Address: Your email address
User Name: (or another domain you chose)
Email account password: your email account password (not your billing account password… there’s a difference)
Account Name: Whatever you want to call it
Send your messages using this name: Again, your preference
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server:
Leave everything at the bottom checked.

Once you click Sign In, it should check your credentials and you will be done!

Possible Errors:

If you see an error that claims your account is “out of date“, that is usually a password or settings issue.  Please go over the screenshot above to make sure all your settings match and that all those boxes are checked.  Also, make sure you can sign into webmail with the password you are using to set up Windows 10 Mail to be sure you are using the correct one.
